a. Accent: accent is effected by regional .Accent is an individual, local or national way of pronunciation.
 
b. Dialect: Form of a spoken language, way of speaking,used in a part of country by a class poeple.
 
c. Is there any difference between your accent and the standard accent?
Yes, there is some difference . The pronunciations are almost the same, you know ,we live the northeast part of china. But the tones are a little different.

1. What is an accent according to the speaker?
 An accent is the sounds and rhythms with which a person speaks a language.
 
2. What is a dialect according to the speaker?
 A dialect includes the vocabulary and grammar used in a specific region or by a specific group of people as well as the sounds and rhythms those poeple speak with.
 
3. Which of the two words has wider meaning?
Dialect has a wider meaning . An accent can be part of a dialect , but a dialect is more than just an accent.
 
Listen to the passage again and fill in the blanks.
 
  The meaning of the words dialect and accent are somewhat _similar_ and some poeple use then as if they mean the same thing. So what is the difference between a dialect and an accent? _Basically_, an accent is the sounds and ryhthms. a dialect includes the vocabulary and grammar used in a _specific region_ or by a _specific group_ of people as well as the sounds and rhythms those poeple speak with . _Therefore_ an accent can be a dialect, but a dialect is more than just an accent.
   Finally , it is important to note that everyone has an accent in every language spoken.  This accent may be a _standard_ mainstream accent, a _regional_accent, or a foreign accent, but everyone has one.
 
Try to answer the following questions orally.
 
a. What are your difficulties in learning English?
I have some problem in my studying, such as poor memory and pronounce, as well as write slowly.
b. How would you learn English now?
I intend to study in reading and speaking and listening for spend two hours everyday.
c. What do you want to achieve in this first semester?
I have to master 1000 vocabulary and words, and understand simple sentences meaning.
d. Summarize your expeience in English learning.
